TPS and work authorization while the legal challenge to the Trump administration&#8217;s termination of Honduran TPS continues.\u200b<\/strong><\/p><p>On February 9, 2026, the Court of Appeals <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/tps-v-noem-ninth-circuit-stay-order.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blocked<\/a> the federal lower (district) court decision that allowed TPS recipients from Honduras, Nicaragua, and Nepal to keep their TPS while the court case continued.<\/p><p>Het is belangrijk dat TPS-houders onmiddellijk <a On December 31, 2025, a California federal district court \u201cvacated\u201d\/ undid the termination of TPS for Honduras, Nicaragua, and Nepal. However, the government appealed this decision to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which on February 9, 2026, \u201cstayed\u201d\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/tps-v-noem-ninth-circuit-stay-order.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blocked<\/a> the positive district court decision. This means that while the appeal case is pending, TPS holders from Honduras, Nepal, and Nicaragua will not have TPS protection or related work authorization.<\/p><p>The court case led by the National TPS Alliance and seven individuals continues, <em>Nationale TPS-alliantie v. Noem<\/em>, 26-199 (9th Cir.). The plaintiffs are represented by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON), the ACLU Foundations of Northern and Southern California, the Center for Immigration Law and Policy (CILP) at the UCLA School of Law, and the Haitian Bridge Alliance.<\/p><p>De rechtszaak wordt voortgezet en de komende dagen en weken zullen er meer details bekend worden.
