America was built by backbreaking labor. This is true for Armando Guardiola who has picked our crops, built our homes, mined our mines and maintained our railroad tracks for the majority of his adult life.
From picking fruits and vegetables in Texas, New Mexico, and California, to construction work in Colorado, to uranium mining in Wisconsin, to railway welding in Colorado, Armando Guardiola has been working towards his ‘American Dream’ since the age of 14.
Today, at the age of 62, Armando is enjoying the fruit of his labor. He settled in Denver, Colorado where he recently retired from the Union Pacific Railroad Company after 37 years of service. He owns his own home, is a proud father of eight children and is enjoying his retirement with his wife.
