Lorena Ramirez came to the US as a child escaping El Salvador's Civil War. Even though she didn't have papers when she got here she worked to support her family, and then worked to provide for her own kids. Today she has daughters in higher education, and professional careers and a son in the US Army. She is not only a proud member of SEIU 721, she is a Union steward, and a leader in the transformation of health services in Los Angeles County. She's also a brand new citizen who will be casting her first General Election vote ever on Tuesday, November 8!
