While making a family plan is important, the first thing you should do is to find out if you have another type of immigration option to stay in the U.S. Then make a plan.
Make a plan
Having a family safety plan is a good idea under any circumstance. In case of an unfortunate event that a loved one is detained or deported, you can protect your family by having a plan. This tool can help you prepare your family, manage your property and make arrangements for your debts. It’s always better to have a plan and not use it than to be unprepared.
How the interview works
The “Make a Plan” interview provides information to help you prepare for immigration enforcement, or in case of an emergency, including:
- How to prepare yourself and your family
- How to manage your property and accounts
- How to manage your bills and debts
The tool will prompt you through a series of questions about your family, your property, bills and outstanding wages, then produce a family plan that provides details from preparing your children to your right to unpaid wages. You will then have the option to have the plan emailed to you.
