Temporary Protected Status – Lebanon

Lebanon

TPS available through May 27, 2026

On November 27, 2024, DHS announced Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Lebanon. TPS is available for 18 months to eligible Lebanese through May 27, 2026. TPS protects from deportation and grants permission to work in the U.S.

Lebanese who have lived in the U.S. since October 16, 2024, are eligible to apply for TPS and work authorization for the first time.

On November 27, 2024, DHS posted a Federal Register notice with information about the designation of TPS for Lebanon.

Lebanese who are applying for TPS for the first time must file a TPS application (Form I-821) between November 27, 2024, through May 27, 2026.

To receive a work permit, eligible Lebanese must file an application for employment authorization (Form-I-765).

You can file an application for work authorization (Form I-765) with your TPS application or before the end of the TPS registration period. Due to the processing backlogs at USCIS, filing your work authorization as soon as possible with your TPS
application ensures you receive work authorization as soon as possible.
