Myanmar (Burma)

Update: On January 23, 2026, a federal judge postponed the termination of TPS for Myanmar. TPS holders from Myanmar continue to enjoy protection from deportation and work authorization until a higher court decides otherwise.

Li enpòtan pou moun ki gen TPS yo imedyatman chèche konsèy legal nan men yon avoka imigrasyon ou fè konfyans pou plis enfòmasyon ak kesyon sou kijan sa ka afekte yo oswa moun yo renmen yo.

  • Until a higher court decides otherwise, TPS and related work authorization for Burmese TPS holders remains valid per a federal court order.
  • Yon moun ki gen TPS ki te aplike pou lòt soulajman imigrasyon, pa egzanp azil, ka otorize pou travay sou baz yon lòt aplikasyon annatant, epi li ka bay prèv lòt fòm otorizasyon travay bay anplwayè yo.
  • If your employer asks, you can show them this federal court order, showing that work authorization for TPS holders from Myanmar has been extended and remains valid.
  • If your employer asks, and you have work authorization pursuant to another form of immigration relief, such as a pending asylum claim, you can show them your work permit pursuant to other immigration relief.
