On March 9, 2026, advocates filed a challenge to the Trump administration’s termination of TPS for Somalia in the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts. On March 13, 2026, the federal district court “stayed”/ blocked the termination of TPS for Somalia. On August 14, 2026, the federal court lifted the block, allowing for the end of TPS for Somalia while the court case continued. As such, Somalian TPS and related work authorization has ended.
