On March 3, 2026, the Trump administration deside to terminate TPS for Yemeni TPS holders. The Trump Department of Homeland Security scheduled TPS for Yemen to end effective May 4, 2026, causing TPS holders to lose TPS and related work authorization.

On March 14, 2026, advocates filed a challenge to the Trump administration’s termination of TPS for Yemen in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. On May 1, 2026, the federal judge blocked the termination of TPS for Yemen. On July 20, 2026, the federal court undid the block, allowing for the end of TPS for Yemen while the court case continued. As such, Yemeni TPS and related work authorization has ended.
The case, Doe kont Noem, 1:26-cv-02103 (S.D.N.Y.), will continue.
